Financial engineering pertains to the determination of the instruments (ordinary shares, preferred shares, convertible bonds, etc.) to be offered, particularly in the context of acquisitions and fund raising. An optimum structure is determined based on the regulatory environment, the valuation of the company, the requirements of the client and the outcomes of the negotiations.
